Whitney and Joe live in New York but decided to marry in the city that Whitney’s parents had made their home.
The consistent, ‘wedding photographer friendly’ weather of the last two months had finally moved on and we had to dodge some heavy showers during the day.

Whilst Whitney prepared with her bridesmaids at her parent’s house in Knightsbridge Joe met with his best man and ushers at the
Builder’s Arms in Chelsea. The pub was just a short walk from the church,
St Luke’s in Sydney Street, which was just as well given the heavy rain that fell shortly before the wedding ceremony. Whitney wore a dress made for her by
Amsale in New York with shoes from
Jimmy Choo and a gorgeous earring and bracelet set from
Cartiér.

After the ceremony the newly weds and their guests had a short Champagne reception in the grounds of the church before travelling across town for the evening celebrations at One Great George Street. The bride and groom travelled to the wedding venue in a 1952 Rolls Royce and on the way we grabbed some photographs in Horse Guards Parade.

The Great Hall at One Great George Street is a fabulous room and it looked even more so with the tables beautifully dressed with floral displays from my friends at Euphoric Flowers. The lovely Erika from Flutter Fly Events organised the whole day superbly and we enjoyed photographing the co-ordinated confetti drop through the rotunda while the bride and groom and all the guests stood below!

The happy couple are currently honeymooning in South Africa and Mauritius.

Now here’s an invaluable online tool for any bride who’s struggling with her choice of wedding dress. The Short Wedding Dresses Planner will let you try out a selection of different dresses then see how they look with different accessories including shoes, veil and jewellery. You can even take a look at your finished wedding day look with different hairstyles! How good is that?
You start off with the empty template (below) and then drag and drop the various elements into place until you have designed your ideal wedding day outfit.
The next image shows one I prepared earlier. As you will see, my outfit encapsulates the very essence of a post-modern, academic woman whilst retaining an air of sexuality and mystery. A bridal style that is one part
Germaine Greer, two parts
Dita Von Teese.
If you visit the main Wedding Games Online website you will find lots of other useful tools to help with your wedding planning including the highly addictive Wedding Bouquets.

Lucy and Charlie were married in the Rossetti Room at Chelsea Register Office at 2pm. The weather in London was beautiful with temperatures in to the 20′s and a warm, late summer, sun putting a smile on everybodies face. Perfect weather for a wedding!

The Rossetti Room (named after the local Victorian artist,
Dante Rossetti) was the perfect setting for the Bride and Groom and their twelve guests. There was a Stevie Wonder theme in the music chosen for the wedding ceremony; the Bride walked in with her Father to ‘I was born to Love Her’; as the marriage certificate was signed ‘Signed, Sealed, Delivered’ was played (natch!) and as the newlyweds left the ceremony room we could hear the uplifting ‘For Once In My Life’.

We then drove out to the suburbs of West London for the wedding reception at
Cambridge Cottage which sits on the edge of
Kew Gardens. Before a further forty or so guests arrived I was lucky enough to take the Bride and Groom for a walk around the gardens where we got some fabulous shots in the late afternoon light. Lucy looked gorgeous in her
Vera Wang dress and
Jimmy Choo shoes and she was wearing a fluffy throw that I couldn’t stop stroking (is that wrong?).

The wedding now over, the happy couple are off for a short break in Paris with a longer honeymoon planned for the New Year.
