Leighton House – a Royal visit
Lloyd May 27th, 2010

I regularly photograph weddings at Leighton House Museum and I was one of those who couldn’t wait to see the result of the recent refurbishment of the house. So I was really pleased when I was asked to go along and cover the visit of HRH the Prince of Wales when he was shown around the Holland Park museum last week.
The Prince met many of the artists and craftsmen who were involved in restoring the victorian home and studio of Frederick Lord Leighton and unveiled a plaque created from tiles (that echo those found around the museum) to commemorate his visit.
His Royal Highness was also shown the beautiful gardens at Leighton House and went on to meet and chat with some of the pupils from Bevington School who come to the museum to take part in art based projects.

Refreshments for HRH and all the guests were provided by Bovingdons.
