This is one of my favourite venues and even though we had some summer showers the light inside The Orangery was always bright.

I was there on Sunday to photograph a celebration of the marriage of Pat Burtis and Jennifer Thomas who were were joined by around 80 of their friends and relatives.

The music throughout was provided by the excellent Blue Topaz String Quartet; do follow the link to see the amazingly eclectic repetoire they have. Pat is a musician and obviously chose these ladies carefully!

The ceremony featured readings by friends and also a reading by the couple to each other of a Walt Whitman poem ‘Song of the Open Road’.

The Champagne reception and wedding breakfast was very efficiently organised by the team from Bovingdons who were also responsible for the layout of the room.

Although Jennifer did look very chic in a dress from Alberta Ferretti and a pretty pair of Guccis, she was almost upstaged by the gorgeous Mimi, who was listed in the order of service as ‘Pug of Honour’.

Normally a description that might offend some wedding guests, Mimi didn’t seem to mind at all and, as you can see, came dressed for the occassion…
