Wedding Photography at Claridges

Although Stacey and Jon had just 11 guests at their wedding there was nothing understated about the chosen venue. From a photography point of view I think Claridges is very difficult to beat as a location for a wedding reception.

The Bride and Groom and all their guests stayed at the Mayfair art deco building, not just on the nght of the wedding but also the previous evening. Whilst Stacey and her family prepared in her suite, Jon and his two brothers headed down to the Chelsea Register Office ready for the ceremony at 3.30pm.

At 2.45pm the bride and her father, Gary, set of from Claridges in a vintage Rolls Royce drove down Park Lane, around Hyde Park Corner and eventually along the Kings Road to the register office. The bride made her entrance to the sound of José González’s song, ‘Heartbeats’ and as the newlyweds signed the register we heard James Morrison’s ‘You Give Me Something’.

After the ceremony everybody returned to Claridges for a Champagne reception in the hotel’s famous tea room before moving into the Gordon Ramsay Restaurant where they enjoyed private dining in the Davies Room.

Stacey’s bouquet that features in several of the photographs here was made by Jane Packer.

An Interesting Year of Wedding Photography

wedding C35 8246 An Interesting Year of Wedding Photography

As usual at this time of year I have been backing up and storing all the images shot in the previous 12 months which gives me a chance to reflect of some of the weddings we have covered in that time.

Because I don’t cover weddings in a particular area or venue but get asked to photograph up and down the country (and sometimes beyond!) it seems that every week I find myself in a completely different wedding venue to the week before. I worked at a variety of wedding venues last year, from Claridges in London (where I will be this going this weekend) to Loch Lomond Golf Course in Scotland. I also shot at such diverse places as Ham Polo Club, Woburn Abbey, Syon Park and Leighton House.

The only common theme was the beauty of the Brides and the quality of the photographs :-)
